Reason to buy : What would happen if you pumped a rat full of 'roids and took it to the gym every day? Not just any gym but one of those ones that you can both workout and organise a hit in. A real classy place full of blood and sawdust. Well the result wouldn't be far off The Mountain by Frost Giant Electronics. This medium sized black box of barbarity is a two mode take on that old rodent inspired circuit. The overdrive mode will appease Grandad and his mates down at the local blues club, then hit the footswitch and the distortion mode will try and burn the place to the ground! Throw in a 3 position clipping switch and you can really fine tune this tonal gargantuan. God it's good.
Reason not to buy : You'll start to expect all of your drive pedals to blur the lines between overdrive, distortion and fuzz, destined to be let down and disappointed for an eternity...or until you buy another Rat.
Fun fact : The word "mountain" comes from the Latin word "montem", which roughly translates to "sonic murder noise machine".
